Silverstream Golf Club
Silverstream Golf Park features a long established driving range and 9-hole golf course. The driving range is amongst the biggest in the lower North Island with 20 covered bays and a hitting area of up to nearly 300m. There is also a wide-grassed area to hit from.
The driving range is floodlit and therefore open to 9pm (last buckets of balls sold at 8.15pm) every day, except Christmas Day and
Silverstream Golf Park also includes a well maintained 9-hole golf course which rates amongst the best in Wellington but remains at the low end in cost.
The 9-hole course is flat and easy-walking. It is ideal for those learning the game or those who do not have the time for 18 holes. The course is affiliated to New Zealand Golf which means you can become a member and gain a handicap and therefore also receive reduced greens fees at other courses around the country. If you do not wish to become a member you can purchase concession cards which will give you a reduced rate.
In addition to the driving range and golf course there is also a well-stocked shop which is one of the busier golf retail outlets in Wellington. Available are clubs, balls, gloves, shoes, bags and many accessories as well as drinks and snacks.
Silverstream Golf Park also has its own golf professional Bruce Farmer who is available for lessons generally Tuesday-Saturday at very competitive rates. Bruce is a member of the New Zealand Professional Golfers' Association.
