Greendale Golf Club is situated 40 kms from Christchurch and is a most attractive country course on the banks of the Selwyn River. The club offers a range of memberships for men and women for 18 and 9 hole golf. A full membership gives the right to play in all club competitions and interclub fixtures whereas the other offers provide flexibility to meet individual playing wishes. The club has two match days Tuesdays and Saturdays, with draws for both these days to ensure all players are introduced to as many club members as possible.
The course is very well maintained by a full time green keeper, supported by a team of volunteers with well irrigated greens and tee blocks and partial fairway watering.
The club runs monthly stableford tournaments (the first Wednesday of the month) for men and women.
Club house facilities are attractive with bar and catering available on match days.
The course is flat with some old river terraces making small hollows and ridges.Fairways are flanked by well placed trees with few bunkers. The out of bounds areas are farmland and, on one side, the Selwyn River. The course is not long, approximately 5400 metres.
The par is 72 for men and 73 for women. The fairways are very well maintained with light rough defining the separate fairways.
